The Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA) has secured US$690 million for the Dar Es Salaam Port public-private partnership (PPP) project in Tanzania.
The World Bank has provided a loan of US$600 million, while Trade Mark East Africa and the Department for International Development (DFID) have issued US$30 million. TPA will contribute the remaining US$60 million.
The project involves the expansion of the Dar es Salaam Port to be able to accommodate larger container vessels through the construction of a new container terminal at Berths 13 and 14. The project will be developed on a design, build, operation and transfer basis.
