A French court of appeal has ruled to annul the controversial Toulouse Blagnac airport privatization. In this long process of privatization of the airport, eventually, the sale of the airport could be canceled.
The court annulled the earlier decisions of sale of 49.99% of the airport to Chinese company Casil Europe because the company did not follow correct procedures with a company joining the consortium partway through the sale process and then leaving before final decisions were made.
The ruling of the court took place on April 16, 2019. The ruling will not affect the ownership of the airport, as for it to be canceled a commercial court has to cancel the sale. The opponents of the airport privatization will have to convince a commercial court to do so.
This ongoing legal process could complicate Casil Europe’s plans to sell its stake in Toulouse-Blagnac airport.
