The City of Edmonton on March 12, has shortlisted three teams that compete in the tender for Edmonton Valley Line West Light Rail Transit (LRT) public-private partnership (PPP) project.
The CAD 2.6 billion (USD 1.9 billion) design-build-finance (DBF) project is the second stage of the Valley Line LRT project in the city of Edmonton in the state of Alberta. The extension will span 14km between 102 Street and Lewis Farms, running from Mill Woods through downtown to the west end, with connections to LRT and bus routes covering the entire city.
The project is being retendered after two of three shortlisted teams withdrew their bids in the original tender. The new tender was launched in January this year. The deadline for RFQ was on February 24, 2020.

The contract signing, for now, is scheduled for December 2020. It is expected that it will take five to six years to complete the construction of the line.

Four shortlisted teams have been invited to respond to a request for proposals (RFP) to deliver the Union Station Enhancement Project. Union Station is the major transit hub in the City of Toronto. Infrastructure upgrades, such as the construction of a new platform and the development of a new concourse area below the platform will further help to accommodate increased capacity as part of the planned expansion of GO Transit rail service. The estimated project cost is CAD 200-499 million (USD 150-374 million).
