Three bidders are keen on acquiring a sizeable stake in Toulouse-Blagnac airport after its Chinese shareholders launched the sale.
In February 2019, Chinese China Airport Synergy Investment Limited Europe (CASIL Europe) launched the sale of its 49.99% stakes in Toulouse Blagnac Airport, located in the Haute-Garonne department in the Midi-Pyrénées region of France. CASIL is a joint venture that includes Chinese state-owned Shandong Hi-Speed Group and Hong Kong-based investment company Friedmann Pacific Asset Management. However, the sale might come in slight delays with the questions raised by the opposition to the court.
The administrative court of appeal is yet to decide the questions raised by the opposition claiming that the sale of the interest by the French government to the Chinese investors in 2015 did not follow the correct regulations and should be annulled. The opposition has also claimed that the Minister of Economy of the time, Emmanuel Macron, has breached the terms of reference. The incident could "constitutes a substantial defect" to the contract.
