Egypt's Finance Ministry has issued a Request for Proposals for the development of a dry port in 6th of October, a suburb located to the west of Cairo, to the following three bidding teams:
Container Corporation of India Ltd, Hassan Allam Holding and PSA International Pte Ltd
DP World and Holding Company for Maritime and Land Transport SAE
Elsewedy Electric, Schenker Egypt and 3A International
Extending over an area of nearly 100 acres, the dry port facility will include 13 specialized zones to receive and store containers, liquid and dry bulk cargo, multipurpose storage warehouses, an administrative area and customs offices, as well as an additional 300 acres for a logistics centre. The total project investment is around US$100 million.
Technical and financial bids are due in May 2019. The concession period will be 30 years.
