The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey has launched the request for qualification (RFQ) for the AirTrain LaGuardia PPP project in New York. The main aim of this project is to improve customer convenience with seamless connections to other forms of transportation and provide modern amenities in AirTrain stations.
The project will be a 2.3-mile (3.7 km) elevated automated fixed guideway transit system that will provide access to LaGuardia Airport for users. It will also have a direct connection between the Airport’s Terminals B and C and the region’s existing mass transit system.
The concession period of the project is 30 years, consisting of a 10-year initial term with two 10-year options. The total project cost is budgeted up to US$ 2.05 billion, including owner soft costs and contingency.
The deadline to submit the surety letter as well as forms B&C is April 26, 2021, while the final date of SOQ is May 3, 2021.
