The Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) approved a R$ 1.2 billion (US$580 million) bridge loan for Aeroportos Brasil - Viracopos S.A. The bridge loan will provide support to the project while long-term financing is being structured, thus speeding up the civil works until the end of the first stage, which is slated for May 2014 and concentrates two-thirds of the investments forecast until 2019
