It has been recently announced that in representation fo the National Office of Civil Aviation (OFNAC), Chief of Cabinet of President Moïse, went to the North West to discuss the construction project of an international airport in Port-de-Paix following a public-private partnership.
It is believed that such an airport is essential, recalling that 70% of Cap-Haïtien flights from abroad, serve people from the North West. The current legal status of this new airport should be transmitted to the National Palace next September before the start of work. The project is expected to begin receiving its first flights in December 2019.
