The Bulgarian Council of Ministers has decided to postpone the signing of the concession contract regarding the Plovdiv Airport (PDV) for one month, which was left to a consortium between Hainan Group and Plovdiv Airport Invest, based in the Netherlands.
The contract was expected to be signed before June 15, but as a request of the Chinese investors that make up the Hainan Group, the signature will take place in mid-July.
In order to provide all the necessary documents, investors requested more time. Doubts concerning who is behind the Duth company, considering Hainan only owns 20% of participation in the consortium, also emerged.
The concession at issue is valid for a 35-year period, during which the concessionaire undertakes to make investments of some €70,083 million (US$81,91 million), for the repair, maintenance and revamping of existing infrastructure, as well as the construction of new facilities.
