Texas seeks advisors for Austin's project Connect

Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority of Austin, Texas is seeking multiple advisors to provide services for its megaplan Project Connect. The plan entails the development of a new rail system with a downtown transit tunnel, expanded bus system with an all-electric fleet.

Under this plan, Austin will see :

  • Four railway lines serving North and South Austin, the airport, downtown, and Colony Park.
  • A new transit tunnel downtown that would separate rail from traffic to improve on-time performance.
  • Expanded bus service with an all-electric bus fleet, new routes, and on-demand circulators within certain neighborhoods.
  • Nine new Park & Rides throughout Austin with improved connections and new amenities.
