Colombia’s Urban Development Agency (IDU) has relaunched tenders for 2 sections of the Carrera Séptima Road Corridor in Bogotá.
The Calle 13 project, totaling COP2.36 trillion (USD577 Million), encompasses five sections. Section 5, which includes the maintenance yard, has not yet entered the bidding process. In April 2023, the IDU granted construction contracts for sections 1 and 2 to the CC L1 and CC 2023 consortiums, with pre-construction activities already underway. Both consortiums consist of ConConcreto and ConConcreto Proyectos. Calle 13's funding is split, with 70% from the central government and 30% from Bogotá. The project features eight mixed-traffic lanes, two exclusive lanes for the TransMilenio bus system, 14 stations, 88,500m2 of green areas, and cycle paths.
In August 2023, the tender for the two road sections was canceled due to a lack of bidders. Offers must now be submitted by November 30, 2023, with the award scheduled for December 20, 2023.
