The Ministry of Public Works of Chile has announced that it has decided to launch the tender for the San Javier - Constitución L30M route project in Chile in 2023.

The project involves the construction of the L30M road, known as the "route of death", which connects the communes of San Javier and Constitution. The scope of the work includes the expansion of the first 8 km of a two-track road from San Javier to Constitución. In 2023, CLP1700 million (US$1.84 million ) will be invested in road safety on the San Javier - Constitution road section and the total investment for the expansion of the entire road between 2024 and 2025 is CLP30 billion (US$32 million).

To relieve traffic on the road, the paving of Route K20 will be tendered during 2023, which will reduce the trip from Constitución to Talca by 20 minutes.
