The National Waterway Transport Agency (ANTAQ) has signed the tender notice for dredging the Lagoa Mirim – Lagoa dos Patos Waterway in Brazil.

The National Department of Transport Infrastructure (DNIT) has successfully advanced the implementation and dredging plans for the waterway. The concession model for the execution and management of the Brazil-Uruguay waterway is under review and approval by ANTAQ. This initiative, part of the New Growth Acceleration Program (PAC), is set to receive an investment of approximately BRL42 million (USD8 million) and aims to make the waterway navigable over the years, facilitating cargo flow through the Port of Pelotas to the Atlantic Ocean routes.
