The municipality of Aracaju in Brazil has launched a tender notice for the concession of public lighting services in the municipality. It is estimated that a total of 58,000 poles will receive new technologies, at a cost of BRL 256.9 million (US$ 51.62 million) for 13 years of contract. The initiative is based on the molds stipulated by the Ministry of Regional Development (MDR), the Special Secretariat for the Partnership and Investment Program (SPPI) - of the Ministry of Economy - and Caixa Econômica Federal. The scope of works involves development, modernization and expansion services, energy efficiency, operation, and maintenance of the local network.
