Tender Notice for regeneration of former Frontierland funfair site in Morecambe

Lancaster City Council has sought a preferred developer to manage the regeneration of the former Frontierland funfair site on Morecambe’s seafront.

This GBP 50 million (US$ 63 million) construction project aims to create a leisure and hospitality-led development, leveraging the popularity of Eden Project North, which attracts an estimated 3,700 peak daily visitors. 

This tender is a prime opportunity for businesses in construction, leisure, hospitality, and real estate development to contribute to a transformative project in Morecambe. It aims to enhance local attractions and stimulate economic growth by increasing visitor engagement. Suitable candidates include leisure developers, hospitality operators, and mixed-use developers capable of forming strategic partnerships. Selected participants will collaborate with Lancaster City Council to create a solution aligning with the council's goals, offering significant potential for residential and visitor market involvement. The contract period is set to end on September 29, 2028. Interested bidders must submit their tenders by January 31, 2025, with the invitation to the second stage of the process scheduled for February 20, 2025.
