The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) has issued a request for proposals for design-and-build teams to reconstruct the Francis Scott Key Bridge and reconnect the I-695 Baltimore Beltway in Maryland, USA.
The MDTA employs a Progressive Design-Build process, which involves a project designer and builder working together from the start to increase efficiency. This approach aims to enhance collaboration among the project team, local communities, and stakeholders, promoting open communication and inclusive partnership opportunities, especially for small and disadvantaged businesses. The extensive project scope and accelerated timeline will necessitate a significant amount of skilled labor to ensure the construction is completed quickly, safely, and reliably. The rebuilt bridge is due to be completed in the autumn of 2028.
The deadline for proposals is June 24, 2024. More information about the tender is available on our Business Opportunity page here.
