Tender launched seeking consultancy for S-train upgrade in Copenhagen

DSB in Denmark has launched a tender notice seeking a technical consultant for  S-train up-gradation project in Copenhagen. The project includes the replacement of the current semiautomatic S-train system with a fully automated S-train system in Copenhagen. The scope of works involves new S-trains as well as upgrading the current infrastructure, safety system, passenger information systems, etc. to a full-scale GoA4 operation.

The technical consultant will assist the authority in achieving a smooth S-train transition over the next app. 20 years. Following objectives will be fulfilled by the consultant:

  • Tender, test, and roll-out of new automatic EMU fleet and automation
  • Analysis, tender, test, and roll out of obstacle detection system (ODS) and platform safety systems
  • Tender and management of changes to and maintenance of the existing infrastructure
  • Develop and manage a system design and necessary integration
  • Building and implementation of a new organization
  • Plan and deliver a smooth transition
