The São Paulo State Public Transport Services Regulatory Agency (ARTESP) has launched the international tender for the concession Litoral Paulista highway network in Brazil. The concession will include expansion, operation, maintenance and execution of the necessary investments for the PPP project. The goal is to facilitate traffic between the South Coast and the capital of São Paulo and the rest of the state.
The Litoral Paulista highway system covers 222 kilometers of road network in 12 municipalities on the coast of São Paulo and Alto Tietê. The development consists of 89 km of duplications, 140 km of marginal roads and additional lanes, 34 km of shoulders and 39 access devices, as well as 39 new pedestrian crossings and walkways and 73 km of cycle paths.
The estimated investment for the project is BRL3 billion (US$568.91 million), while the concession contract is given for 30 years.
