Régie des Bâtiments in Belgium has launched a tender notice seeking a DBFM (design, build, finance, and maintenance) partner for a new prison in Bourg-Léopold. Bourg-Léopold prison will be built on 8 hectares of land, part of the Reigersvliet district. The scope of works involves the construction of cells for 312 detainees with its ancillary functions such as reception, visitation complex, and social + administrative + logistics section.
Depending on the time taken to obtain the necessary permits, the start of the works is expected towards the end of 2023. The construction works will probably be completed by the end of 2025.
