The Autonomous Port of Strasbourg has launched a tender for the operation and maintenance of the Lauterbourg container terminal.
The multimodal terminal was inaugurated earlier this year and is located on the banks of the River Rhine at the German border in France's Grand-Est region.
The concessionaire's responsibilities will include handling of containers, or other Intermodal Transport Units (ITUs); administration of goods handled or stored for intermodal transfer and river, rail and road transport; and customer relations.
The total investment of the concessionaire is estimated to be EUR26 million (US$29.5 million).
The tender deadline is 10 April 2019. Interested parties are invited to bid for a concession contract between five and 20 years in length. For more information, see the Business Opportunity.
