The London Borough of Waltham Forest has launched tender inviting private developers to facilitate the delivery of high-quality, residential-led mixed-use development and public realm at three sites adjacent to Lea Bridge Station, located in the Walthamstow district of East London.
The scope of work includes the development of 300-320 homes; a minimum of 3,000 sq. m. of commercial cultural spaces and 750 sq. m. of public space. Further works include constructing a new entrance to the railway station. The selected private developer partner will also be responsible for long-term and on-going property management of the commercial/cultural space.
The private partner will enter into a Development Agreement and 250-year lease with the Borough Council for the delivery of the development.
The scheme may involve some of the land at one of the sites being made available for a community-led housing scheme with the developer partner delivering construction for that development.
The tender deadline is 20 February 2019. For more information, see the Business Opportunity.
