Tender launched for Mexican road concession

Mexico's Secretariat of Communications and Transportation (SCT) has launched a tender process for the construction, operation and maintenance during 30 years of the Atizapán-Atlacomulco highway  in the state of Mexico.

The project consists of building a 80 km six and four lane highway, in specific stretches, to give a new exit to the western region of the county to the traffic flows of the Mexico City Metropolitan Area.

The project will offer the user a direct exit from the northwest Mexico  City Metropolitan Area to Morelia, Guadalajara and other western cities, and will complete the missing link on the direct route between  Mexico and Guadalajara.

The project has an estimated investment amount of US$306 million.

The deadline to purchase bidding documents is 29 November 2013. A visit to the road will take place on December 6th, 2013.

The deadline for submission of proposals is 30 January 2014. On that day, SCT will open technical proposals for the project. Economic proposals will be opened on 21 February 2014.

Tender documents must be purchased at the SCT's main office.
