Tender launched for housing redevelopment project in London

Peabody Trust in UK has launched a tender notice seeking private developers for the redevelopment of a 2.3-acre paper factory brownfield site is located in Newington Triangle, between Borough tube station and Elephant and Castle in Central London. 

The objectives of the project are as follows:

  • Enable and ensure the delivery of the comprehensive redevelopment of the Site;
  • Achieve a planning consent and start on site and practical completion of the affordable elements in the shortest feasible time period;
  • Maximise residential development appropriate for the site so as to achieve the best return to authority and (at least) the min affordable housing as set out within the tender documents;
  • Deliver a minimum of 35 % affordable housing including a minimum of 200 affordable homes (whichever is the greater) to be split 70 % affordable rented homes and 30 % shared ownership.

The concession period for the project is 5 years.

The deadline to submit the response to the tender notice is January 26, 2020.
