The State Government and the Riograndense Sanitation Company (Corsan) in Brazil has launched the bidding process for the Sewage treatment system project in Porto Alegre.
The expected investment required for the project is BRL 2.23 billion (US$ 0.56 billion). The project aims to accelerate the universalization of sewage collection and treatment services in the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre. With a concession period of 35 years, the total project value is BRL 9.56 billion (US$ 2.36 billion).
The purpose of launching the event was to provide more transparency and standardize the information passed on to market agents interested in participating in the process. As per the schedule, the opening of the envelopes is scheduled for November 25, 2019, the signing of the contract for March 2020, sewage repairs in the second half of 2020 and new works in 2021.
