Collectivité territoriale de Guyane in France has launched tender for the development of a public satellite network in French Guiana. The network will reach all areas that will not initially or permanently be affected by the implementation of the FTTH fiber network that is the subject of a separate public service delegation procedure.
This network will be based on:
- a satellite payload, or an IRU (Indefeasible Rights of Use), to be acquired on one or more satellites already in orbit, or on a device to be launched,
- a segment on the ground that will allow, throughout the territory of Guyana and in particular in the interior and the littoral zones not very dense: the delivery of wholesale flows to the operators who make the request, the delivery of satellite sockets in individuals and professionals, marketed by operators as part of a satellite offer to deploy.
The concession period for the project is 17 years. The deadline to submit the response is September 13, 2019.
