The Siyancuma Municipality has invited prospective bidders to bid for the Douglas Water purification plant rehabilitation work in Northern Cape, South Africa.
The project entails upgrading the existing water purification plant and general repair work to existing buildings. The scope of work includes:
- Replacing existing raw water pumps at the Oranje-Vaalrivier Canal and Vaal river canal;
- Building and installing a new electrical control panel for Vaalriver canal pumps;
- Construction of 140m of 300 mm diameter uPVC supply pipe, 1750m, 300mm class 9 uPVC supply pipe and 40m, 300mm uPVC waste water pipe;
- Construction of 11,51m diameter X 3,45m high round reservoir with roof and concrete slabs for reservoir foundations and filters;
- Supply and install purified water pump with control panel at existing purification plant;
- Supply and install flocculent and liquid chlorine dosing pumps at the existing purification plant; and
- Supply, construct and commission UFMC-3 X 1800mm filters with electrical control panels and raw water supply pumps.
The chosen contractor will be responsible for providing civil engineering and works services, as well as supplying and servicing pumps, valves, pipes, meters, and water treatment equipment. Additionally, they will be responsible for wet services such as water and sanitation.
