The Government of Sindh in Pakistan has launched a request for qualifications (RFQ) seeking a private partner for the development of a wastewater treatment plant in Karachi. The ultimate design capacity of wastewater treatment facilities is 100 MIGD. The construction works for the plant with 65 MIGD capacity are currently in progress.
The scope of work for the project involves the following civil works:
- Complete partially constructed inlet civil works (coarse screen, wastewater pumping station and common inlet chamber) for 100 MIGD design capacity;
- Inspect and install inlet pumps, screens and other mechanical equipment already delivered to site for the 100 MIGD inlet works and procure and install any additional mechanical equipment required for commissioning;
- Design, procure and install new electrical equipment for commissioning of the 100 MIGD inlet works and integration with the Project power supply system;
- Design and implement 35 MIGD WWTP incorporating biological nutrient removal (BNR);
- Design and implement on-site bypass to the WWTP;
- Design and implement reverse osmosis (RO) concentrate discharge pipeline to Lyari river with TDS dilution;
- Design and implement recycled water pumping station, distribution network, and smart consumer meters.
