The State Government of Mato Grosso has launched a tender process for the railway project that links Rondonópolis to Cuiabá and Rondonópolis to Nova Mutum and Lucas do Rio Verde in Brazil.
The project will be the first railroad development in the state, connecting it with the national railway network. The state railroad will form one of the most versatile logistical corridors in the country and significantly improve the flow capacity of Mato Grosso, which is estimated to reach, in 2030, producing 120 million tons of grain per year. The stretch will significantly relieve transport on the highways, which benefits not only the flow of people coming and going, but the quality of the roads.
The project has an estimated investment of BRL12 billion (US$2.29 billion) and will generate more than 235,000 jobs. The concession period for operation will be 45 years.
The work will start within six months after the issuance of the environmental installation license.
The deadline to submit proposals is September 2, 2021. More information about this business opportunity can be found here.
