The Government of Chile, through the Ministry of Public Works and Ministry of Health, has launched a tender for the construction of the National Institute of Neurosurgery, which will be located in the Providencia district, with a capacity of 214 beds.
The new hospital will have seven surgical pavilions, a pavilion for Major Ambulatory Surgery, an emergency pavilion, 19 boxes for medical attention, and another 29 boxes for other professionals. In addition, the facility will have 10 procedure rooms, an emergency care service and diagnostic and therapeutic support services, specialized support services such as imaging, nuclear medicine, pathological anatomy, clinical laboratory, pharmacy with a mixing center and integrative medicine, among others.
During the construction phase, the project will generate around 1,200 direct jobs. With an investment of UF3,509,321 (USD147 million) the hospital will meet the demand for neurosurgical care both in the Metropolitan Region and in the rest of the country.
