Tender issued for transmission PPP project in Nepal

The Nepal Electricity Authority has launched a tender for qualified developers for Hetauda-Parwanipur-Pokhariya 132 kV Transmission Line project.

The selected partner will be responsible for the design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of Pokhariya 132/33/11 kV AIS Substation and bay extension work of the Parwanipur substation in Nepal. To be eligible to tender, bidders must have a minimum annual turnover of US$10.20 million in the last three years and have successfully or substantially completed at least two contracts in the last 10 years. The cost of participation in the auction exceeds US$8.20 million. Participants must pay a non-refundable fee of NPR 20,000 (US$149.17).

    The Government of Nepal will establish a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Center to make investment arrangements for infrastructure and service-based projects. The center will start the process of making investment arrangements from the upcoming fiscal year, according to the National Planning Commission (NPC). The government plans to eventually expand the center as a department.
