Tender issued for Subway extension PPP project in Canada
Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and Metrolinx have released a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for the Advance Tunnel Contract package for the Yonge North Subway Extension (YNSE) in Ontario, Canada.
The scope of work for the selected contractor will include:
- An approximately 7.4 km subway extension, north from Finch Station to Richmond Hill;
- Train storage and light maintenance facility;
- Bus terminals;
- Commuter parking facilities; and
- Transit connections to VIVA BRT and GO train service (Richmond Hill Line).
The YNSE will expand TTC's Line 1 subway service by around 8 km from Finch Station to Richmond Hill, including a 6.3 km underground segment and an above-ground segment along the existing rail corridor in the northern section of the route.
