Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and Weeneebayko Area Health Authority (WAHA) have launched a Request for Proposals (RFP) for a team to deliver the WAHA Redevelopment Project.
The redevelopment project involves the construction of a new hospital, Elder Care Lodge, visitor hostel and staff accommodations in Moosonee as well as a new Ambulatory Care Centre on Moose Factory Island. It is expected that the development partner would enter into a fixed-price, public-private partnership (P3) agreement to design, build, and finance the Project.
Moosonee Health Campus will have 36 inpatient beds, a 24-hour Emergency Department, Modern surgical suites, Dialysis treatments and diagnostic imaging, Expanded mental health and addictions programming, Improved primary health care services and a new 32-bed Elder lodge. Moose Factory Island new ambulatory care center will have infrastructure facilities for Emergency health services, Access to primary health care, Diagnostic imaging capabilities, Physiotherapy and Health promotion programming.
