The Government of Slovakia, through the General Directorate of the Prison and Judicial Guards Corps (ZVJS) , is set to launch a tender for the Rimavská Sobota prison development PPP project before the end of February 2019.
This was revealed by the Director-General of the ZVJS at an investor presentation for the project, which covered the reasons for construction, the benefits, project financing, risk-sharing between the public sector and the private sector and schedule of the project, among other topics.
The facility will be built for 832 detainees in the minimum, middle and maximum levels of guard, and will serve the catchment districts of Rimavska Sobota, Lučenec, Revúca and Veľký Krtíš.

The Transport Minister has announced the project will be delayed due building permits for the plots of land over which the road will pass. The ministry and the contractor have agreed that the construction work on the project will be launched at full speed on March this year
