The Promotion of Private Investment (PROINVERSIÓN) has announced an international public tender for the Huancayo-Huancavelica Railroad project in Peru.

The Huancayo - Huancavelica Railroad project will go through three important stages:

1. The pre-qualification opens with the call that has been published;
2. Through the end of April 2023, the interested parties may remark on the published version of the contract. Subsequently, publish a revised version of the contract that includes the investors' suggestions and the revised project budget.
3. Adjudication is the final step.

The winning partner will be in charge of creating a modernized infrastructure complete with new train stock, signaling and control equipment. The slopes will be covered and stabilized, a new repair and maintenance facility will be constructed and the railway superstructure will be updated.

The project must be awarded by December 2023 in order to meet the deadline.
