Telecel Group has announced its acquisition of a 70% stake in Vodafone Ghana.
Telecel has purchased the telco's 70% interest in Vodafone Ghana. The state will retain control of the remaining 30% of the business. After this acquisition, Telecel Group provides innovative offerings to new subscribers, businesses, and communities in Ghana.
Vodafone Ghana and its three subsidiaries, National Communication Backbone Company Limited (Vodafone Wholesale), Vodafone Ghana Mobile Financial Services Ltd (Vodafone Cash), and the Vodafone Ghana Foundation, will carry on as usual. Vodafone had over 7.3 million subscribers in Ghana up until June 2022.
