Regional District North Okanagan (RDNO) in British Colombia, Canada has awarded the engineering services contract for a new filtration facility at the Mission Hill Water Treatment Plant (MHWTP) to AECOM.

MMWTP sources water from Kalamalka Lake which has been susceptible to turbidity events and seasonal algae. The new filter facility will reduce the impact of such events on the quality of water. The scope of the project includes the development of a new water filtration system, a new building for labs and control rooms as well as the upgrade of waste stream handling, related piping and equipment and control systems.

AECOM will be responsible for delivering detailed design drawings, tendering, estimating, inspection monitoring, technology evaluation, contract administration, as well as documentation works, such as a startup commissioning plan, comprehensive facility operation and maintenance manual and standard operating procedures.
