The Finnish Transport Authority has launched a tender for technical advisory services for the Hailuoto-Oulu causeway project, which is to be implemented following a public-private partnership (PPP) investment model.
The technical advisors will be responsible for preparing the procurement process alongside the financial and legal consultants and supporting the selected developer in the implementation of the investment phase, which involves the design, construction, financing and maintenance of an 8.4 km causeway between Hailuoto, an island in the Gulf of Bothnia, and Oulu, a city in the Northern Ostrobothnia region of central Finland.
The technical advisory services are expected to commence by March 2019 as soon as the contract is signed.
