Hanoi People's Committee in Vietnam has selected Him Lam to provide a feasibility study and market research for Tran Hung Dao Bridge concession. The 5.5 km long bridge will connect Tran Hung Dao, Hoan Kiem district to Nguyen Van Linh street in Gia Thuy ward, Long Bien district. The bridge will have six lanes to facilitate the flow of traffic.
The estimated development cost for the bridge is VND8.90 trillion (US$390.29 million). The authority will award the concession on the build-transfer model with 50% investment provided by a private partner while the state will provide another 50% of the capital cost. The concession period for the project is 20 years.
The design of the bridge, prepared by Transport Engineering Design Incorporated (TEDI), involves a prestressed reinforced concrete box girder bridge combined with tower pylons in the classical style of Indochina. The construction works for the project are scheduled to start in 2022, and the bridge will be operational in 2025.
