The Eastern and Southern African Trade and Development Bank (TDB) has agreed to provide the financing for the expansion of Kigali’s King Faisal Hospital (KFH)’s outpatient facilities. A total of US$14 million will be financed in a 6-year primary forfaiting transaction.
The hospital is a multi-specialty 160-bed quaternary facility, which provides a range of specialized health care in Eastern and Central Africa. The goal of the expansion project is to improve patient flow and experience by making it quicker and better. The scope of works includes the development of a new outpatient clinic and doubling of the hospital’s outpatient facilities capacity to 45 consultation rooms, renovation and construction of the outpatient block’s education and research centre, daycare facilities, electric substation, safety ramps, and main entrance and lobby.
The TDB bank worked together with the sponsor of the project, the contractor and the Bank of Kigali Plc (BK) on this transaction, providing liquidity in order for the project to continue.
