São Paulo State Court of Auditors(Tribunal de Contas do Estado de São Paulo- TCE/SP) has suspended the tender process for a waste PPP project in the municipality of Paulínia (Brazil).
The tender process involves the selection of a private partner for the provision of public urban cleaning services, management, treatment and disposal of the municipal solid waste.
The term of the administrative concession would be 30 years and the estimated investment was BRL119 million (US$37.6 million).
The project was structured via Procedure Expression of Interest (PMI) published in November 2015, with the participation of Corpus Saneamento e Obras Ltda., a company that currently provides services to the municipality.
Paulínia is a municipality in the state of São Paulo. It is part of the Metropolitan Region of Campinas and it has an estimated population of 100 000 inhabitants. The municipality held its first public-private partnership (PPP) in 2008, whose objective was the delivery, operation, maintenance and conservation of cultural buildings. The contracting authority was the Ministry of Culture.
