The Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) has announced that the construction and equipment installation of Passenger Terminal T3 at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City will be implemented by a joint venture of six contractors in Vietnam.
A consortium consisting of Hanoi Constructions Corporation (Hancorp), Construction Corporation No.1 (CC1), Corporation 319 of the Ministry of Defence, Truong Son Construction Co., Ltd, RICONS Investment JSC, and Luu Nguyen Construction Co., Ltd, has been awarded the contract for a bidding package valued at VND 9 trillion (USD377.86 million). Encompassing an area of 112,500 sq m, this project received government approval in 2020, where 70% is allocated from the ACV's total funds. Once operational, the facility is projected to accommodate up to 20 million passengers annually. Primarily focused on domestic flights, this new terminal will alleviate congestion at T1, which is currently experiencing capacity challenges, ultimately enhancing service quality.
Passenger Terminal T3 serves as a hub for handling the arrival, departure, and transit of passengers travelling through the airport. The terminal plays a crucial role in providing efficient and comfortable travel experiences for both domestic and international flights. It includes various amenities such as check-in counters, security checkpoints, boarding gates, baggage claim areas, customs and immigration facilities, lounges, and retail spaces. The terminal is scheduled to be put into operation by 2025.
