SYSTRA has won contracts for both the design and supervision of a 115km electrified rail line and the 9km Hovegodan-Hilleroed line upgrade in Copenhagen, Denmark.

By the end of the decade, this new 115km electrified rail line will be operational, offering speeds of up to 200 km/h and connecting Denmark's rail network to the rest of Europe, primarily through the Fehmarn Belt tunnel. The tunnel will span 18km, linking Denmark's Lolland island to Germany's Fehmarn island.

The 115-km Ringsted-Femern line has been completed between Ringsted and Nykøbing Falster. The project includes upgrading King Frederik IX's bridge over the Guldborg Sound and constructing a new double-track railway between Nykøbing Falster and Rødbyhavn. In 2022 and 2023, DSB removed the old single-track railway between these two locations, and a new embankment for the future double-track was established. Additionally, a new station has been built near Holeby on Lolland. DSB is currently preparing to construct the new railway across Lolland. Additionally, the line will be equipped with the new pan-European digital signaling system, ERTMS, enabling cross-border train operations through the Fehmarn tunnel. When the Fehmarn Link opens in 2029, the Ringsted-Femern line will serve as a key transport corridor between Denmark and Europe, reducing travel time between Copenhagen and Hamburg to around 2.5 hours.
