The Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) has received 37 interest for the privatization of the existing Ras Al-Khair (RAK) Integrated desalination and power plant.
The shortlisted teams are:
RAK is an operating asset with 1.05 million cu.m./d of water and 2.65 GW of power capacity. It has been in operation since 2015. It uses hybrid-configuration of multi-stage flash thermal desalination and reverse osmosis membrane technology.
The privatization of RAK is supervised by the Supervisory Committee for the water sector of Saudi Arabia.
