The Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) has taken over hundreds of sub-contracts for the purple line PPP project after the concessionaire quit and abandoned the half-finished works.
MDOT is still trying to negotiate with the Purple Line Transit Partners LLC, the concessionaire, for resuming the project works; but successful negotiation seems unlikely. The authority is yet to decide to fully take over the project or appoint a PPP partner.
