The Private Investment Promotion Agency (PROINVERSIÓN), the National Port Authority (APN) and the Regional Government of Moquegua met to promote the modernization project of the Ilo Port Terminal in Moquegua, Peru.
The meeting aimed to establish the Port of Ilo as a modern, multipurpose terminal meeting international standards, enhancing efficiency, competitiveness, and safety per the National Port Development Plan. Modernizing the port is crucial for boosting commercial competitiveness in the Moquegua region and nationwide. This includes supporting the southern mining corridor, facilitating copper and iron exports, and integrating with the southern interoceanic road and railway corridors, Ilo airport, and the industrial zone. PROINVERSIÓN has been conducting demand studies for port services as part of a collaboration with the APN for southern port projects.
