The European Construction Technology Group has awarded a 15.7 km long section of the A3 motorway between Câmpia Turzii and Chețani for EUR 85 million (US$ 92 million) to consortium partners GEIGER and STRABAG in Romania.
STRABAG SE has previously constructed two segments of the A3 highway. In 2018, they finished a 10.1 km stretch between Ungheni and Ogra, followed by a 9.2 km segment from Ungheni to Târgu Mureș, which was completed in 2021. Presently, STRABAG is engaged in building a nearly 19 km bypass from Oradea to the A3, with an estimated cost of around EUR 110 million (US$ 120 million). Once finished, the A3 will span 588 km from the Romanian capital Bucharest, passing through key commercial hubs such as Ploiești, Brașov, Cluj-Napoca, and Oradea, ultimately reaching Borș on the Hungarian border, where it will connect to Hungary’s M4 motorway.
