The Government of Bangladesh has joined hands with South Korea to build Bangladesh’s second metro rail network in Chattogram.
The Public Private Partnership Authority of Bangladesh, Korea Overseas Infrastructure and Urban Development Corporation, and the South Korean government had jointly organized a meeting on March 2nd in which the Korean government had put a proposal for the metro rail project. The proposal is currently under review.
The BDT 1 trillion (US$11.4 billion) metro rail network includes three to four routes connecting Mirsarai Economic Zone, industrial areas and the growth centers on the outskirts of the city.
First Dhaka Elevated Expressway Company, Ltd. (FDEE), a project company owned by China Shandong International Economic & Technical Cooperation Group Ltd (CSI), Sinohydro Cooperation and Italian-Thai Development Public Company Limited (ITD) has reached financial close for the Dhaka Elevated Expressway Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project in the capital of Bangladesh.
