The Government of South Africa through its National Department of Transport has launched a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for the design, construction, financing, operation and maintenance of two emergency towing vessels (EVT) under a public-private partnership (PPP).
The vessels are to be developed to protect South African areas of responsibility against marine pollution. The project is expected to reduce the incidence of preventable marine casualties in South African waters and will support the broader initiatives of South African Government focused on the development of the oceans economy.
The RFQ submission deadline is 15 March 2019. For more information, see the Business Opportunity.
