Skanska to build USD97.13 million clinic project in Sweden

Skanska has signed an agreement with the Kalmar County Region, Sweden, to build a new psychiatric clinic at Västervik Hospital. The psychiatric clinic will be a 6 storey building spread across an area of about 24,500 square meters. It will include forensic psychiatry, round-the-clock care and open adult psychiatry.

The project has an estimated investment of SEK915 million (USD97.13 million). Skanska has already worked for some time with the design of the building and calculated the target cost for the project, also including climate calculation. The agreement that has now been concluded concerns the construction phase.

The construction works are expected to start by the end of February and the project will be completed during the second quarter of 2025.
