The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has awarded civil contracts for the design and construction works for two stations and associated tunnels under the Cross Island Line Phase 1 (CRL1) in Singapore.
The first contract, valued at US$467 million and covering the design and construction of Defu station and tunnels, was awarded to Gamuda Berhad Singapore Branch - Wai Fong Construction Pte Ltd Joint Venture. The second contract, valued at around US$397 million, covers the design and construction of Tampines North station and tunnels. It has been awarded to China Communications Construction Company Limited.
Construction works for Defu and Tampines North stations are expected to start in the second quarter of this year, with passenger service for CRL1 planned to commence in 2030.
